How to remove Windows search from the taskbar
To search your computer, Microsoft Windows has an integrated search engine known as Windows Search. This application, by default, is present in the Windows XP taskbar. To use the search engine, type a keyword in the search box and press enter. Like other applications that position themselves on your taskbar, you can remove Windows search from it, but still have the application on your system. To remove Windows Search, you do not have to edit the Windows registry or use a third-party program.
Right click on the taskbar.
Click on “Toolbars.”
Click on “Windows Search toolbar” to disable the Windows search option.
Click on “Start”, “Turn off computer”.
Click on “Restart” to restart the computer so that the change can be effective. The Windows search option will be removed from the system taskbar.
