How to remove Google Maps bookmarks

If you have a Google account, you can save and edit the maps you create on Google Maps. One way to edit a map is to add a marker. This is useful if you want to mark a place you plan to visit. If you want to remove a bookmark that you have added to a Google map, doing so requires only a few clicks of the mouse.

Step 1

Login to your Google account and click on “Maps” from the menu at the top of the page.

Step 2

Click on “My Maps” to see the map from which you want to remove the marker. A list of your saved maps will open.

Step 3

Click on the title of the map you want to edit; the map will open.

Step 4

Click on the “Edit” button located above the map name. You can remove the markers here.

Step 5

Click on the bookmark you want to delete from Google Maps. A box will appear, giving you the option to change the name and details of the bookmark, move it or delete it.

Step 6

Click on “Delete” to remove the marker from your map. The marker will be removed. Press the “Done” button located above the map name to close the editing options.
